The Faculty of Engineering at SETU<\/strong> and the Engineering the South East Cluster<\/strong> are teaming up with DOB-Academy<\/strong>, a Dutch offshore energy training provider, to offer a bespoke training program for professionals in the offshore wind sector in Ireland. The two-day program will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the offshore wind energy industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1 will cover the basics of offshore wind energy, its rapid development, and the technical aspects and design considerations of an offshore wind farm. Practical cases will be used to reinforce the newly acquired knowledge. On day 2, attendees will delve into power distribution, the importance of a safe work environment, and the logistics involved in the installation and maintenance of a wind farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-day course is designed to cater to different professionals in the industry. Day 1 is suitable for those new to the industry, including financial experts, marine contractors, and government stakeholders. Day 2 is focused on port logistics and is ideal for marine service providers, port authorities, and logistic service providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program is initiated by the Knowledge Management & Training Centre (KMTC) <\/strong>which is to be located in the near future in the new Europort Business Park (EBP)<\/strong> in Rosslare, and in collaboration with DOB-Academy<\/strong> and SETU (South East Technological University)<\/strong>. The interactive sessions will provide opportunities for open discussions on current events in the industry such as floating vs. fixed structures, port locations, ORE subsidies, and supply chain issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, this bespoke training program will provide a comprehensive understanding of the offshore wind energy sector for professionals, giving them the tools to succeed in this rapidly growing industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
